Meet Our Therapists

I’m McKenzie Brock, LCSW and I believe in
embracing a compassionate and relational approach to healing through our bodies, mindfulness, and creativity.

I value the therapeutic relationship as a way to empower my clients to make changes in their lives. I have worked in group practice, schools, non-profits, crisis lines, and youth shelters. I have a background in theatre and yoga, and aim to bring a warm, heart-centered approach while utilizing playfulness and a sense of curiosity in my work with clients. Having been on my own healing journey for over a decade, I bring understanding and empathy to meet you where you are.

I am passionate about working with teens, young adults, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I would love to help you to build skills to cope with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and other mental health struggles while creating collective goals for moving forward and developing a deeper connection to yourself and your purpose. As a Neurodivergent provider, I aim to bring an affirming perspective and love to help create goals and coping skills that work with our beautifully complex minds!

In my work I embrace a strengths-based, relational approach, incorporating trauma-informed care, utilizing an attachment lens, while working with individuals and family systems. I am guided by mindfulness-based and somatic practices, feminist multicultural therapy, Accelerate Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and also offer EMDR. I am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASCDS). I truly believe that we all hold immense wisdom from our stories. It is my joy to partner alongside people as they rediscover and reclaim their power.

I’m Sage Rasmussen, and I look forward to providing a safe, compassionate space for you to share your story and tap into your own resilience.

The process of beginning counseling can be intimidating. I am here to help, and I honor your decision to take this step towards caring for yourself! I know from lived experience the healing and growth that can result from the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you can come as you are: bringing your doubts, fears, grief, and joy with you, and feeling through them without fear of judgment. I welcome, affirm, and celebrate neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ identities!

I align with both a person-in-environment and anti-oppressive approach. I also align with a strengths-based approach, meaning that I believe everyone has the ability and inner wisdom to thrive (not just survive), even in the face of adversity.

I will follow your lead with what you are hoping to receive from therapy! I utilize a variety of evidence-based modalities depending on client needs, including narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and somatic experiencing. I am interested in working with individuals fourteen and older who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, school/work stress, self-esteem challenges, religious deconstruction and/or religious trauma, self-harm, and/or LGBTQIA+ concerns.

I am currently a master’s-level student at the University of Saint Mary and am accepting clients at Creative Soul Therapy under the supervision of McKenzie Brock, LCSW. When I am not at work, I enjoy reading a good book, arts & crafts, fostering cats, or spending time with my partner and our family of two cats and two hedgehogs. 🦔
